Turkey Chili

During the auntun/winter months, when the weather is colder and the trees are changing it is time to whip out the chili recipes! Who doesn’t love a lighten up chili recipe.

This can be made in a slow cooker or in a pot on the stove top.

Ingredients
1 package of 99% fat free ground turkey
1 medium onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 garlic clove, minced
1 1/2 cup frozen corn
10 oz diced tomatoes
4 oz can diced green chiles
8 oz tomato sauce
1 can low sodium chicken broth ( or more)
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2-1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprila
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
In a skillet, cook the ground turkey then drain the fat out.
In a slow cooker add all other ingredients and top with the turkey.
Give it a good stir, taste for the right amount of seasoning.
Cook on high for 4-6 hours or low 6-8 hours. The longer it sits and cooks the better the flavors blend.
Can be topped with a dollap of sour cream or avocado slices or cheese!

Great as leftovers as well!

xoxo Pamela
