Happy Hump Day Y’all! Who loves French fries? I do! I do! This week my mother and I planned simple menus for dinner. Something we can throw together that’s tasty. Tonight we are having Jennie-O Turkey Burgers with some of my oven baked French fries and cauliflower. We loves grilling the turkey burgers on the George Foreman Grill, keeps them moist and tasty. The cauliflower is just steamed in a pot on the stove. And of course, we had left over potatoes and wanted French fries, so that is what todays post is about!
Homemade French fries, in the oven of course. Less fat than fried. Healthier but with the same crispy goodness.
Oven Baked Fries
1 tablespoon paprika
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
* sprinkle with sea salt optional
PAM cooking spray
Preheat oven to 450°F
Peel the potatoes, and slice them about 4 times long ways.
Then those slices, julienne the slices, making sure the shapes are about the same size.
In a large glass bowl, toss the potato sticks with oil and spices.
Mix well with hands, and lay out the potato sticks on a greased cookie sheet. * optional to sprinkle with Sea Salt before baking.
Bake in oven for 30 minutes until tender, soft, flaky crispy.
Serve warm along with a good burger!
When I make fries at home, I usually whip up some of my special tangy sauce to dip them into.
