Its super easy to make take out Thai food in your own kitchen, half the cost, half the fat, quick and easy too! I made this along side the Coconut Curry Chicken and jasmine rice.
Update: I just made this again on April 2, 2017 and I used liquid aminos instead of soy sauce( which reduced the sodium content by a landslide!) Took out shallots and added ground ginger to it too! The taste was phenomenal! I added a curry sauce over the top of it too! Quick Easy Curry Sauce.
Thai Basil Chicken
1.25 pound chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 sweet onion, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 serrano chili, seeded and minced
6 shallots, diced
4 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
4 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 cups Thai Basil, chopped
In a bowl, add the chicken breasts strips , oyster sauce, hoisin sauce and soy sauce, marinate the chicken for at least 1 hour.
In a fry pan, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and cook shallots, onions and red bell pepper until softened and onions are translucent.
Once translucent, add in garlic and serrano chili cook till fragrant.
Add in marinated chicken breasts and cook till done.
Drop in the chopped Thai Basil and cook for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and serve over jasmine rice.
Could also be served along side Coconut Curry Chicken.
