Tonight for dinner I cooked up my recipe/version of Asian chicken lettuce wraps. This is a copy cat recipe of the ones on the appetizer menu at PF Changs.
1 pound ground chicken
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 sweet onion, diced
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce/ or gluten free soy sauce
1 splash rice vinegar
1/2 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon hot sauce, I use Cholula Chipotle
1- 8ounce can water chestnuts, minced
2 stalks green onion, thinly sliced
1 head lettuce
In a large skillet or wok, add in the ground chicken and diced sweet onions and cook until no longer pink.
Once thoroughly cooked, stir in the garlic, hoisin sauce, green onions, water chestnuts, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger and hot sauce, cook about 1-2 minutes.
Serve warm over lettuce leaves.
