Good morning all!
Happy Saturday! Before I head into work I thought why not finally post my cookie dough recipe I’ve been tweaking and using And of course baking with.
My new thing is making a large batch of cookie dough. Then when I get home from work and craving something sweet, I pop a few in the oven and 10 minutes later a cookie is there.
Last week I made a sugar, almond, cinnamon cookie for work. This week I made a sprinkle fun cookie.
Thus cookie dough base is made with butter flavored shortening. I prefer the brand Crisco.
Cookie Dough Base
2 sticks (2 cups) crisco butter flavored
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking soda
Then for the cinnamon part I added in enough cinnamon to where the dough was speckled.
For the fun sprinkle dough I added in sprinkles of all colors till the dough brightened up a bit. ( I didn’t want too many sprinkles)
In a large mixer blend crisco, sugars until combined.
While the mixer is at medium speed add in vanilla and almond extract, salt, baking soda mix well. Then add in each egg. ( the batter will be runny till you had the flour )
( sometimes I Will add in a little bit of coconut milk)
Add in flour 1 cup at a time on low speed. Once it’s all combined add in your sprinkles or cinnamon.
Place dough in fridge until ready to use. I prefer to chill my dough a couple hours before baking it for a more fluffy cookie.
For 8-14 minutes depending on the size balls you prefer.
